Ted’s Anti-Pop Footbrace Solution

I like the slidelock footbraces better than any other, they allow easy adjustment while paddling, which is important to me because sometimes I am in my boat for 10 or more hours! That said, they have a few problems, the main one being that the spring that holds down the adjuster to lock it isn’t strong enough, so they can sometimes pop loose while rolling. I learned to roll before there were foot braces or thigh hooks in kayaks, but for some people it can be a big problem. Ted, a student in my last class had dealt with this issue before and has come up with a simple solution to the problem. A small piece of foam that is easy enough to make. Thanks Ted!
