With such an easy and painless means of prototyping at hand why not build outlandish and improbable boats! I call this one-off creation, Small Craft Advisory. It is essentially the bottom profile and rocker of a windsurfboard built up to a canoe. Bamboo and ABS pipe make a poor mans’ outrigger. It is unique in blending epoxy-fiberglass-plywood with skin-on-frame in the same boat. I built this 14′ canoe in about 4 lazy days. It will undoubtedly perform better with the rudder fixed in place and by changing it from a tri to single outrigger. You can see me hiked way back here trying to get it to head downwind.
