F1 kayak build time lapse, Day 7.
Sound on and don’t forget to scroll, there are two videos here! For our final videos in the series we go for a quick paddle on the Willamette river in downtown Portland.
Every construction medium has advantages and disadvantages but near the top of the list of things that keep me addicted to skin on frame is being able to build a boat that’s really light but still pretty tough.
At the end of the day (sometimes literally) a kayak that weighs 30 pounds or less just makes it a lot more likely that you’re going to actually get out there for a quick paddle!
We just uploaded this entire time lapse series as one video on the Cape Falcon Kayak YouTube channel (embedded at the bottom of this post). I think it’s worth a watch to see the whole series unbroken, and definitely worth listening to the soundtrack as a continuous progression. Huge thanks to Epidemic Sound for making these great tracks by Jules Gaia available at a reasonable price. This project wouldn’t be half as good without it!
