It’s not every day you put a kayak on a tiny car

skin on frame F1 kayak on top of a smart car
Snapped this photo this morning, because hey, it’s not every day you put an F1 on a tiny car. Little did we know that this would be the start of a three-hour long kayak car chase.

Two F1s were scheduled to go out today. They were 99% identical. Packed this one on its way and went to prep the other and then realized that in the pre-coffee morning I’d swapped the boats.

Would the boats still fit the paddlers? Yes. Would they ever know the difference? Probably not. But that’s not the way I roll, so boat went in the van, I hit the freeway, and after three hours of trying to find this little red car, we swapped the boats on the side of the road in Seattle. Ironically, my response time was a little too good… he was actually five minutes *behind* me the whole time!

HUGE thanks to Matt who staked out the road in Seattle while I drove up. .
