One last post from the Paddlesports Design class at James Madison University. We had a few folks ask about the blue-teal-green gradient that student @zach.morrison_design was able to achieve. Zach was kind enough to let us share his time lapse of the dye process. The three different colors of acid dye were applied at the same time and then blended together.
From Zach:
I chose to take a risk and went for a blue to teal to green gradient instead of doing one solid color like the rest of the class. Even my professor was doubting me…while I was in the process of coating the boat It could not have turned out better though, the transition between colors looks so clean
Check out Zach’s feed @zach.morrison_design for more shots of the finished boat.
A big thanks to Zach for sharing, and to the JMU Industrial Design and School of Art, Design and Art History and professor Kevin Phaup for hosting and developing this amazing course.
