Well boys, it appears we’ve gained some weight over the holidays. What could have been a lovely 31 pound F1 before thanksgiving got a new deck shape and some sailing reinforcements, adding 2 pounds. Then we put on a heavier skin, adding about 3 more. Then came the sailing, skeg, and catamaran hardware, packing on 4 more pounds, and finally we toss in the seat mat and a few days past Christmas we are tipping the scales at 39lbs! Lets call it an even 40 with the sail and final rigging.
Was it worth it? I’ll have to answer that after I get it on the water and see how these modification survive contact with reality. I’m an ultralight enthusiast so this thing will have to be really fun to justify itself!
More than likely much of this will change, but I think this is a decent first draft.
