Even when working to a survey, we don’t usually build skin-on-frame kayaks the way they were actually built historically. It is fun once in a while though to replicate a particularly interesting detail. The 3 piece hooked scarf assembly of this East Greenland kayak would have been relatively straightforward for the original builder, but trying to reverse engineer it and still match the drawing was a bit of a challenge!
