Day 16, Skin-on-frame rower-sailer

Day 16, skin-on-frame row/sail canoe. 2 hrs.
.
My level of varnishing experience is clearly visible and that is not a compliment. Ran out of Rapid Clear much faster than expected and switched over to an old can of Z-spar. Luckily I have a few more coats and plenty of sandpaper to get things right. I think I’m going to try Le Tonkinois on the next boat to avoid all the toxic nastiness.
.
Following the tragedy of my varnishing job, I stripped off the respirator w/fresh vapor cartridges and went outside to wipe some pine tar/tung oil on the gunwales. I am an expert oil wiper at least.
.
Pulled out some battens and started dreaming about my dinghy some more. This is the “real” 2019 design project and I might bang a prototype out really quick just to give my brain something to chew on while I switch to a non boat related project for a few months.
