A few screenshots of the sample plan set for the new West Greenland 2.0 kayak

Here’s a few screenshots of the sample plan set for the new West Greenland Kayak.
.
For the latest plan upgrade we’re added a lot more detail to our tools and materials lists, quantified the effect that using different woods will have on the finished kayak weight, the kayak is now scalable in 1% increments for paddlers from child size up to 250 pounds, I’ve introduced an experimental new rib height checking system, which we may or may not keep depending on peoples experiences with that part of the system. And even though it’s not shown here I also have a page showing all the different float bag options I recommend and also some advice about sea socks. We are in the process of releasing all of our plans with this same level of detail.
.
The big challenge of what I do is that unlike many other types of boat plans skin on frame lets you modify individual boats for your own needs but that can result in a dizzying array of potential choices so I’m always working to try to give people as many options as possible but create systems that allow people to navigate those options and make choices without getting overwhelmed.
.
You can download a complete set of these sample plans on our website and I even allow people to take half of the building course completely for free so you can really interact with the system before committing to spending any money.
