North Alaska replica kayak frame build, Day 20: Fixing the stringer placement and final details

North Alaska replica kayak frame build, Day 20). Woke up to beautiful early morning light on the kayak frames. Such a privilege to share space with these sculptures for a while. We started the day by cutting the stringers off and lashing them back on in the correct pattern.
.
Having conquered that task, we moved on to attaching the deck stringers carefully recessing all lashing paths to keep the details to be as authentic as possible.
.
After some time consuming midday errands we moved on to setting the coamings and making the supporting stanchions. I don’t know if it was just too late in the day or what but fitting the little stanchions was more challenging than it seemed like it should be. Pretty tired at the moment, I didn’t do a great job of taking photos today but I’ll make sure to carefully document the frames and share more photos tomorrow.
