North Alaskan Kayak Frame Build time lapse. Video 4 of 12

North Alaskan Kayak Frame Build time lapse. Video 4 of 12.
.
In this video we laminate a couple of tall arched deck beams, and test fit all of the straight deck beams. A quick, easy form for one-off laminations like this is just to use a scrap of three-quarter inch plywood with number 10 screws protruding out of it. working with a partner you can torture the shape even further during the bend having them set screws as you go. I use lots of 2 inch spring clamps to compress the layers. To build these again I probably wouldn’t have bothered with the lamination and would have just lap jointed them the way that you will see me do for the rest of the peaked deck beams.
