Paul’s pack canoe

The cool thing about our canoe building system is that it gives you the freedom to modify the shaping for individual preferences. This pack canoe built by Paul in Dubuque Iowa is a little different than anything that I’ve done so far but it seems do you have turned out really nicely so I’ll let him describe it in his own words:.
.

“Finally finished the pack canoe. 13' long, 25.5" wide with 1" of tumblehome, 23.6lb. The changes from official plans are adding foot pegs and bolting in the back rest thwart. It paddled very nice, quick and light feeling. Stable enough, but not barge like feeling.
.
For dimensions:
6" curve on the gunwales for the shear line.
.
24.5 width to outside of gunwales for tumblehome. The tumblehome is really subtle, but I think it looks nice.
.

1.5" rocker, end to end.
That amount of rocker is nice. Much easier to turn than the Hornbeck, but still tracks pretty well.
.
Thanks again to Brian for the plans and help. Not to forget, JSwan Boatworks for the ribs that made it all possible.”
