Time lapse: Skin on frame solo canoe build, Post 6

Skin on Frame Canoe Build Time Lapse 6.
.
With the stringers tied on I can relax a bit and just let the natural tensions of all the framing members balance the shape of the boat.
.
Rocker loss is just a fact of life with skin on frame building (which is why I never build over molds) so in addition to just compensating for that with the original measurements, at this point I also like to double check the rocker. Depending on what I see there I may or may not flex additional rocker into the keel towards the ends before making my final cuts and shaping the stems.
.
With the stems shaped it’s time to fasten them permanently to the keel and tie in the stringers. After that I do some final cemetery checks on the hull and tie down the keel.
.
Build times in minutes:
.
65 finishing the stems
20 tying the stems to the gunwales
35 fitting the keel to the stems
20 tapering, rounding, and gluing the keel to the stem
45 fairing in the stringers
15 tying the stringers to the stems
30 tying on the keel
.
Task time: 3 hrs 50 min
Total build time so far: 25 hrs 25 min
