Sound on! Today’s video is actually a cross-post from our other Instagram @actuallytiny where we chronicled the construction of our tiny house with the same fervent intensity that we seem to do everything. The house itself is my effort to make the most truly livable, energy-efficient, tiny space possible based on 20 years of building and living in small structures.
This little house incorporates advanced framing, obsessive attention to detail in insulation and air sealing, passive solar design, and of course the hybrid woodfired solar hot water system you see in this video.
Within a few years I’m hoping to create plan sets and video courses showing people how to build this and other tiny structures faster, stronger, and more energy efficient.
Much like skin on frame kayaks, there are a lot of tiny houses on social media that look fantastic but are poorly constructed and difficult to actually live in. My goal, as always, is to create things that live up to their Pinterest glamour shots.
Anyways, enjoy the video and maybe bounce over to our @actuallytiny feed or the actually tiny YouTube channel to keep you entertained during coronavirus isolation.
