Check out these nesting canoes built from our Plans by Serda and Cadgas in Turkey!
“We are from Turkey, and we live in Bodrum on the southwest coast. I am a sculptor, and Cagdas is stage designer, but for the last 3 years and still we have been working together at a shipyard for living, building mostly carbon fiber stuff for yachts. I worked as a deckhand on traditional wooden sailing boats for couple of years before the shipyard job. Cagdas makes marionette puppets and before he used to live on a remote mountain area in a house which he built himself. That’s how we are familiar with tools and some materials.
We have a small wood workshop at the backyard where we make some furnitures such as stools, tables etc. Here on the south and west coasts of Turkey there are lots of nice sea routes, especially around where we are. We wanted to build some kind of tiny sailing vessel for ourselves, considering the expenses and berthing we finally decided canoes are the best option for us, besides as a plus we can even go down to center and do the shopping and come back home by the canoe. While researching for canoes, we came across to your building system and here we are now!”
So to summarize: they are both ridiculously overqualified to build these canoes and possibly the first Cape Falcon Builders in Turkey. They also both speak three languages! Really nice work guys. You can check out their other projects at @wood.can.do on Instagram
