Well, I totally f**cked that up! Today was supposed to be the start of a project where I build a 15 foot canoe out of this incredible Sitka Spruce 1x12x15’ (not a cheap or easy to find a piece of wood) but on the very last planing pass I got dyslexic for a moment and signaled for my outfeed person to push the board one way when I should’ve said the other way, causing the back end of the board to jump the guide rail, essentially planing the last 3 feet of the board to a taper. (basically ruining the board).
So that’s how my day is going. Somebody help me feel better here: what’s the most expensive mistake you’ve made on a woodworking project?
