Day 8: Skin-on-frame rower-sailer

Day 8, skin-on-frame row/sail canoe. 3 hrs.
.
Pleased to see the dip in my keel disappeared overnight. Boat has settled at about 43 inches wide which works for me. Put the goop on today. There’s lots of things you can coat a skin boat with but I’ve never found anything even half as durable as spirit lines’ two-part polyurethane. 3 coats wet-on-wet dry in 24 hours, lasts 5 years. This is one of the big reasons skin-on-frame is so addicting. It has upsides and downsides just like any boat building medium but the upside of not having to spend weeks epoxy-ing sanding and varnishing is a BIG upside.
