Just a few photos from my friend Max in East Greenland

Just a few photos from my friend Max in the tiny East Greenland Village of Tiniteqilaaq. About five years ago, Max contacted me because he wanted to revive the native kayak building tradition in his village. All of our plans and video courses are free to anyone who is a member of a native arctic tribe although actually getting them there was a bit of a shock ($75 to send a thumb drive!). Over the years, we have also sent books, boxes of building supplies, kayaking gear, and done several fundraisers that have helped the children to attend the Greenland kayaking championships in West Greenland, representing east Greenland for the first time ever!

This year Max and 4 kids will be returning to the West Greenland championships in Qaqortoq. If you want to support Max and their village, we have a donate button on our website under the About tab on the page titled How we Give Back. We also donate 10% of the profits from any of our Greenland paddling gear sales to Max and other arctic kayaking groups. Donations are helpful because it literally costs more to travel from east Greenland to West Greenland then it does from the West Coast of the United States to Greenland!
