Timelapse: More progress on the pedal drive canoe

More progress on the pedal drive canoe. This nonsense is just an over engineered plug for the box to see if I notice a difference in drag while sailing with the pedal drive removed and the hole in the bottom plugged versus non-plugged. It would have to be a pretty noticeable difference to add something this complicated to the system though, and this only matters if you pull the pedal drive on the water. On land, you can just remove the entire box and plug the hole with a cap plate.

I’ve been working with way too much thickened epoxy lately so it was nice to break out something less toxic for this non structural member. While I was at it, I glued up one of the seat rails for my canoe. I haven’t done a lot of gluing with titebond three, but I’m starting to get more comfortable with it. This particular batch did me dirty though, it was gelled and clumpy inside leaving me with far less glue than a half bottle I thought I had. Luckily Tom I had a small back up bottle and we just barely made it!
