Rory’s tandem canoe

Getting trip reports from people who have built my boats is one of my absolute favorite things. These pictures come from Rory in British Columbia who spent a couple days camping with his wife and daughter this last weekend.
.
Rory’s canoe is 16 1/2 feet long, 36 inches wide, and 13 5/8 inches deep in the center. The frame is built entirely from yellow cedar (green, not kiln dried). He said their total payload was 510lbs, which seemed like about as much weight as the boat wanted to carry.
.
If you want to see the building process for this canoe Rory put up a really nice blog on the Student Builds page of our website (link in profile).
