If I really wanted to see how the pedal drive canoe fared against a sea kayak I probably shouldn’t have chosen a 6’4” experienced kayaker and put him in our fastest boat. I was definitely working harder than he was to keep pace during the “normal effort” leg. My normal cruising speed is more like 3.75 mph in this canoe. Which would be about 4.25 to 4.5 with this current.
